FIVE BOOKS of PSALM
Psalms was probably made into one big book from five separates collections. These are set off in our Bible as Book i, Book II and so on, each book ending with concluding line of praise. The contents sometimes overlap : Psalm 14 in book I tuns up again as Psalm 53 in Book II , Part os Psalm 40 (Book I) becomes Psalm 70 (Book II) and part os Psalm57 and and 60 make uo Pssalm 108 (Book (IV).
Other less noticeable differences stand out between the different books. But perhaps the most eloquent proof that all these psalms were npt originally collected together is found at the end of psalm 72.
