Festival Pentahbisan, disebut juga dengan Festival Kenisah (Hanukkah) atau Penahbisan Bait Allah dirayakan di Yerusalem pada tanggal 25 Kislew(sekitar bulan Desember) selama 8 hari.[1] Perayaan ini dimaksudkan untuk memperingati penyucian kembali Bait Allah pada tanggal 25 Kislew 165 SM oleh kelompok Makabe[2] setelah sebelumnya dinajiskan oleh Antiokhos IV Epiphanes 3 tahun sebelumnya (tepatnya tanggal 25 Kislew 168 SM).[3] Perayaan ini dirayakan bersamaan dengan masa Adven atau bahkan dengan hari raya Natal sehingga sering disebut secara keliru sebagai "Natal Yahudi".[1] Pesta ini dirayakan sebagai peringatan Yudas Makabeyang menyucikan dan membangun kembali Kenisah yang sudah dirusak oleh orang-orang bukan-Yahudi, termasuk orang Yunani dari dinasti Antiokhus.[1] Dalam perayaan ini, umat Yahudi berarakan sambil membawa tongkat berhiaskan daun palem, mempersembahkan kurban, dan bernyanyi dengan iringan alat musik.[1]

Di rumah-rumah maupun di Sinagogedisediakan Menorah[4] (lilin dengan delapan lengan tambahan di kiri dan kanannya) yang dinyalakan satu per satu setiap hari selama perayaan ini[5](mirip dengan kebiasaan menyalakan lilin satu per satu setiap minggu dalam peringatan masa Adven).[1] Inilah yang menjadi ciri khas dari perayaan ini.[2]Menorah tersebut perlu ditaruh di tempat yang bisa dilihat oleh orang-orang.[2] Penyalaan ini harus dilakukan tepat setelah matahari terbenam, kecuali pada hari Sabat.[2]Pada hari Sabat, lilin tersebut dinyalakan setengah jam sebelum matahari terbenam.[2] lilin-lilin yang dinyalakan pada menorah dimaksudkan untuk menyala setidaknya selama 1,5 jam.[2] Setelah itu, orang-orang boleh menyalakannya kembali, selama ada orang selain yang menyalakan lilin dapat melihat cahaya lilin tersebut.[2]

Rumah-rumah maupun Bait Allah dipenuhi dengan lilin dan dekorasi yang terang.[1] Pada hari kedelapan, cahaya dari seluruh lilin yang telah menyala semua ditambah dengan cahaya matahari dan lampu-lampu lainnya memenuhi ruangan Bait Allah dengan cahaya yang terang benderang sehingga hari raya ini juga sering disebut dengan ritus cahaya.[1]

Menurut legenda, pada suatu saat, hanya tersedia cukup minyak untuk menyalakan menorah selama satu hari, namun ternyata menorah dapat terus menyala selama 8 hari.[2] Inilah yang menjadi latar belakang perayaan Hanukkah dirayakan selama 8 hari.[2]Selain itu, ada banyak argumen lainnya yang menyebabkan perayaan ini dilangsungkan selama 8 hari.[2]

Tradisi Kristen

Dalam Injil Yohanes pada bagian Perjanjian Baru di Alkitab Kristendicatat bahwa Yesus Kristus semasa hidup-Nya pernah hadir pada hari raya Pentahbisan Bait Allah di Yerusalem - dengan keterangan tambahan "ketika itu musim dingin" - sekitar 4 bulan sebelum masa sengsara-Nya, yaitu penyaliban-Nyapada hari menjelang Paskah Yahudi.[6]Pada hari itu Yesus berjalan-jalan di Bait Allah, di serambi Salomo, dan kemudian berdiskusi dengan orang-orang di sana yang berakhir dengan upaya penangkapan dan pelemparan batu terhadap-Nya, tetapi Ia luput dari tangan mereka.[7]

"Mendengarkan" dan "mengikuti" dalam bahasa aslinya memakai bentuk waktu kini, yang menunjukkan aktivitas yang diulangi atau yang menjadi kebiasaan. Pernyataan Yesus ini bagaimanapun juga tidak mengajar bahwa orang percaya harus menganggap dirinya allah. Justru sebaliknya, mereka yang menyatakan dirinya allah akan dihukum Allah (Yer 10:11).

*_A Review of the Parashat Vayeshev(And he settled)_*

One of the most fundamental questions about the Torah turns out to be one of the hardest to answer. What, from the call of ELohim to Abraham in *Genesis 12* to the death of Joseph in *Genesis 50*, is the basic religious principle being taught? What does the entire set of stories about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their wives, together with Jacob’s sons and daughter, actually tell us? Abraham brought monotheism to a world that had forgotten it, but where do we see this in the actual text of the Torah itself?

Here is the problem. The first _eleven chapters of Genesis_ teach us many fundamentals of faith: that Elohim brought the universe into being and declared it good; that Elohim made the human person in His image; that Elohim gave us freedom and thus the ability to do not only good but also bad; that the good is rewarded, the bad punished and that we are morally responsible for our actions. *Chapters 8 and 9* also tell us that Elohim made a covenant with Noah and through him with all humanity.

It is equally easy to say what the rest of the Torah, from *Exodus to Deuteronomy*, teach us: _that Elohim rescued the Israelites from slavery, setting them on the road to freedom and the Promised land; that Elohim made a covenant with the people as a whole on Mount Sinai, with its 613 commands and its purpose, to establish Israel as a kingdom of priests and a Set Apart nation_. In short, Genesis 1-11 is about *creation*. Exodus to Deuteronomy is about *revelation and redemption*. But what are *Genesis 12-50* about?

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all recognise Elohim . But so do non-Jews like Malkizedek, Abraham’s contemporary, described as _“priest of Elohim Most High” *(see Gen. 14: 18)*_. So even does the Pharaoh of Joseph’s day, who says about him, _‘Can there be another person who has Elohim’s spirit in him as this man does?’ *(See Gen. 41: 38)*_. Elohim speaks to Abraham,

You can also download the Shabbat "Table Talk" for the portion here:   Table Talk for Vayeshev (PDF download) The Festival of Chanukah: Sunday Dec. 2nd - Monday Dec. 10th On the Biblical calendar the month of Kislev (כִּסְלֵו) is the ninth of the year (counting from Nisan), and also one of the "darkest," with the days progressively getting shorter and the nights getting longer. Indeed, the Winter Solstice often occurs during the last week of Kislev, and therefore the week of Chanukah (which straddles the months of Kislev and Tevet) often contains the longest night of the year. It is no wonder that, among other things, Chanukah represents an appropriate time to kindle the lights of faith - and to remember the Light of the World in the Messiah's advent to earth... The Hebrew word Chanukah (חֲנֻכָּה) means "dedication" and marks an eight day winter celebration that commemorates the victory of faith over the ways of speculative reason, and demonstrates the power of the miracle in the face of mere humanism. Although it is customarily observed as a "Festival of Lights," Chanukah is a "fighting holiday" -- a call to resist the oppression of this world and to exercise faith in the LORD. This year the eight days of Chanukah begin on Sunday, December 2nd at sundown (1st candle) and will run through Monday, Dec. 10th (until sundown). The tradition is that on the first night of Chanukah one flame is lit, on the second night two, and so on until the eighth night when eight flames are lit. Chanukah Blessings Download (pdf) Chanukah 2018 Torah Readings: Because Chanukah is an eight-day holiday, there has to be at least one day when Shabbat and Chanukah overlap (called "Shabbat Chanukah"), and in some cases there are even two (e.g., on years when Chanukah begins on a Shabbat). Dec. 9) Num. 7:54-8:4   John 9:1-7; John 10:22-39 Since Chanukah celebrates the victory of Maccabee forces over the Greeks and the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, the additional Chanukah Torah readings are connected to the dedication of the Mishkan (Tabernacle) in the wilderness. On the first seven days of Chanukah we read of the sacrifices and gifts offered by the first seven tribal leaders. On the eighth day we read of the offerings of the remaining five leaders, and we continue to the next Torah portion, reading about God's commandment to Aaron to kindle the Menorah in the Tabernacle. On the Shabbat of Chanukah we add the Haftorah reading (from the Book of Zechariah) that speaks of Zechariah's prophecy concerning a menorah. (On Rosh Chodesh Tevet, usually the 6th day of Chanukah, additional readings about the new month are recited.) In the synagogue, on each of the days of Chanukah we recited the full Hallel (הלל שלם). In addition, the Al Hanissim is included as part of the Hoda'ah blessing (of the Amidah) and Birkat Hamazon (i.e., the traditional blessing recited after eating a meal). Al HaNissim praises God for delivering the Jewish people at the time of the Maccabees. Collectively these praises and blessings are called Yemei Hallel v'Hoda'ah in the prayerbook. Blessing before Torah Study: Some terms: Parashah is the weekly Scripture portion taken from the Torah. Each parashah is given a name and is usually referred to as "parashat - name" (e.g., parashat Noach). For more information about weekly readings, click here.   Aliyot refer to a smaller sections of the weekly parashah that are assigned to people of the congregation for public reading during the Torah Reading service. In most congregations it is customary for the person "called up" to recite a blessing for the Torah before and after the assigned section is recited by the cantor. For Shabbat services, there are seven aliyot (and a concluding portion called a maftir). The person who is called to make aliyah is referred to as an oleh (olah, if female).   Maftir refers to the last Torah aliyah of the Torah chanting service (normally a brief repetition of the 7th aliyah, though on holidays the Maftir portion usually focuses on the Holiday as described in the Torah).  The person who recites the Maftir blessing also recites the blessing over the Haftarah portion.   Haftarah refers to an additional portion from the Nevi'im (Prophets) read after the weekly Torah portion. The person who made the maftir blessing also recites the blessing for the Haftarah, and may even read the Haftarah before the congregation.   Brit Chadashah refers to New Testament readings which are added to the traditional Torah Reading cycle. Often blessings over the Brit Chadashah are recited before and after the readings.   Mei Ketuvim refers to a portion read from the Ketuvim, or writings in the Tanakh. Readings from the Ketuvim are usually reserved for Jewish holidays at the synagogue.   Perek Yomi Tehillim refers to the daily portion of psalms (mizmorim) recited so that the entire book of Psalms (Tehillim) is read through in a month. However, when this book was originally published it contained 80 books and current editions only have 60, and we have to wonder what exact purpose the removal of 14 books would serve? The Vatican Church or Roman catholic church has been associated with deception for ages. Their atrocities have ranged from genocide many centuries ago against the Cathars to child molestation is more recent years. The Bible was originally translated from Latin into English in 1611. This “original” Bible contained 80 books, including the Apocrypha, which means hidden. These Apocrypha books made up the end of the Old Testament, and included the following books: • 1 Esdras • 2 Esdras • Tobit • Judith • The rest of Esther • The Wisdom of Solomon • Ecclesiasticus • Baruch with the epistle Jeremiah • The Songs of the 3 Holy children • The history of Susana • bel and the dragon • The prayer for Manasses • 1 Maccabees • 2 Maccabees Later in 1684, all of these books were removed from the Bible and all of its various versions. The only one left intact was the 1611 edition. In this first edition, Bible Jesus’ name was spelled Iesus, pronounced Yahushua. You have to wonder why it was changed to Jesus, contrary to the original pronunciation and spelling. One of the most interesting books of the removed was the “Wisdom of Solomon”. Solomon is one of the most legendary biblical figures from the Bible, as he was the son of David and the wisest man that ever lived. Typically, he is portrayed as a benevolent figure, however, this book will change everything that you ever learned about him. For example, read this excerpt: Wisdom of Solomon 2:1-24 1 For the ungodly said reasoning with themselves, but not aright, our life is short and tedious and in the death of a man there is no remedy: neither was there any man known to have returned from the grave. 2 For we are born at all adventure: and we shall be hereafter as though we had never been: for the breath in our nostrils is as smoke, and the little spark in the moving of our heart 3 Which being extinguished, our body shall be turned into ashes, and our spirit shall vanish as the soft air, 4 And our name shall be forgotten in time, and no man shall have our works in remembrance, and our life shall pass away as the trace of a cloud, and shall be dispersed as a mist, that is driven away, with the beams of the sun, and overcome with the heat thereof. 5 For our time is very shadow that passeth away; and after our end there is no returning: for it is fast sealed, so that no man cometh again. 6 Come on there for let us enjoy the good things that are present: and let us speedily use the creatures like as in youth. 7 Let us fill ourselves with costly wine and ointments: and let no flower of the Spring pass by us. 8 Let us crown ourselves with rosebuds, before they be withered: 9 Let none of us go without his part of our voluptuousness: let us leave tokens of our joyfulness in every place: for this is our portion and our lot is this. 10 Let us oppress the poor righteous man, let us not spare the widow, nor reverence the ancient gray hairs of the aged. 11 Let our strength be the law of justice: for that which is feeble is found to be nothing worth. 12 Therefore let us lie in wait for the righteous; because HE is not of our turn, and HE is clean contrary to our doings. He upbraideth us with our offending of the law, and ojecteth to our infamy the transgression of our education. 13 HE professeth to have the knowledge of the MOST HIGH, and calleth HIS self the child of the LORD. 14 HE was made to reprove our thoughts 15 HE is grievous unto us even to behold, for HIS life is not like other men’s, HIS ways are of another fashion. 16 We are esteemed of HIM as counterfeits: HE abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness: HE pronounceth the end of the just to be blessed, and maketh HIS boast that GOD is HIS father. 17 Let us see if HIS words be true: and let us prove what shall happen in the end of HIM. 18 For if the just man be the Son of THE MOST HIGH, HE will help HIM and deliver HIM from the hands of HIS enemies. 19 Let us examine HIM with despitefulness and torture, that we may know HIS meekness and prove HIS patience. 20 Let us condemn HIM with a shameful death: for by HIS own mouth HE shall be respected….. These verses bring to mind a few different important questions, such as: • Who is Solomon speaking of killing with a “shameful death”? • Why did the Vatican vote to have these 14 books removed from the Bible? • Why did Solomon sound so crazy and evil in this book? It seems that Solomon was speaking of Jesus. But Jesus was born roughly 900 years after his death. Could he have prophesied Jesus’ coming? Let’s consider why this could be, who Solomon was talking about? • They killed the SON with a shameful death • The SON’s actions or fashions were different from everyone else’s • HE claims to be and IS the child of The MOST HIGH • He was a righteous poor man who would look at Solomon and others like him as “counterfeits”. • HE professeth to have knowledge of The MOST HIGH Then listen to what Solomon has to say: • HE was made to reprove (criticize) our thoughts • We are esteemed of HIM as counterfeits: HE abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness: HE pronounceth the end of the just to be blessed, and maketh HIS boast that GOD is HIS father • For if the just man be the Son of THE MOST HIGH, HE will help HIM and deliver HIM from the hands of HIS enemies. And one last thing I would like to point out is when Solomon says; • Let us oppress the poor righteous man, let us not spare the widow, nor reverence the ancient gray hairs of the aged. In contradiction to everything most of us know and believe about Solomon, in these verses he sounds completely evil. According to most Biblical teachings in modern times, we are told to believe that he is the wisest man in the history of the world. It should be noted that Solomon was largely involved in the Occult. Much of the knowledge and teachings that Aleister Crowley preached about were based on the Lesser Keys of Solomon. Solomon worshiped multiple gods and had a weakness for women.  It is also worth mentioning that the Temple of Solomon is considered the spiritual birthplace of Freemasonry, which is a secret society of sorts that has been responsible for much of the corruption taking place in our world today. It has never been stated for sure as to why these books were removed from the Bible, although various speculations have been made. We have to wonder if something darker isn’t behind their removal, and what exactly they are hiding away with these books. Typically, when something is removed from our direct site by those in power, they don’t expect for us to look any deeper than the surface, but when we do, there is almost always more to uncover than we would have ever imagined.
