Feast of Shuot

Iyyar 11, 5779

"The festival of Shavuot arrived, and the believers  all gathered together in one place." Acts 2:1 CJB.

The festival of Shavuot is Hebrew for the festival of Weeks. For Shavuot is Weeks in Hebrew. This is because in Leviticus 23:15-16, we are instructed to count 7 completed Shabbats, which is 49 days, and the 50th day is the Festival of Shavuot. Its is 50 days from after the Shabbat of Matzah, counting from Abib 16, where Matzah or the Feast of Unleavened Bread was on Abib 15. And this year, Abib 16 is after both the weekly Shabbat and the high Shabbat of Matzah.

Shavuot is translated as Pentecost in Greek and English. And Pentecost means 50. Its 50 days from the resurrection of Yeshua the Mashiach.

It is abundantly clear that the believers in Yeshua as the Mashiach celebrated Shavuot or the Feast of Pentecost, after the death, resurrection and ascension of Yeshua. That's why in Acts chapter 2, it is written in verse 5 that, " in Yerushalayim there were dwelling Yehudim, dedicated men from every nation under the heaven." So Jews from every nation came to Yerushalayim to celebrate Shavuot or Pentecost. There are no instructions whatsoever to stop celebrating Pentecost. The Feast of Shavuot or Pentecost is for all believers in Yahweh our Elohim and in Yeshua the Mashiach and our Master. For all the appointed times of Yahweh are about the true Mashiach.

And today is 26 days to Shavuot or Pentecost.

Blessed are You, Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe, for you have sanctified us with your commandments and have commanded us to count the omer. Today is 26 days of the omer or 3 weeks and 5 days of the omer.
